This green fruit's creamy texture and satisfying flavor can also lower your risk of heart disease by reducing bad cholesterol (LDL) and increasing good cholesterol (HDL). A five-ounce avocado has about 200 calories — most of which is good for you monounsaturated fat — and an abundance of vitamin E, fiber, folate, potassium and magnesium. Replace mayonnaise with avocado on your sandwich or wrap, puree into a salad dressing or drizzle for veggies, and dice up and add to fruit salads or smoothies.
