McDonald's Restaurants of Canada Limited has added breakfast and lunch/dinner Protein Platters to its existing menu. The Protein Platters, available in participating restaurants, have been introduced as part of McDonald's Healthy Lifestyles initiative -- a comprehensive consumer wellness campaign aimed at Canadians of all ages focusing on three key areas: additional menu choice, consumer education and the promotion of physical activity.
The new Protein Platters offer Canadians the following meal options:
Breakfast Protein Platter: Two eggs, one slice of back bacon, one piece of strip bacon, one sausage patty and sliced tomato
Lunch/Dinner Beef Protein Platter: Quarter Pounder® beef patty, one piece of strip bacon, one slice of processed cheese, shredded lettuce, slivered onions, tomato slices and dill pickle slices
Lunch/Dinner Chicken Protein Platter: All-white seasoned chicken breast, one piece of strip bacon, one slice of processed cheese, shredded lettuce, slivered onions, tomato slices and dill pickle slices
An in-store display will provide customers with additional tips and suggestions on ways to adapt and modify their McDonald's meal choices to reduce levels of fat, calories or carbohydrates.
