Subway Restaurants is the first quick serve restaurant to partner with Atkins Nutritionals Inc. (ANI). The restaurant now offers three Atkins.-endorsed choices:
Turkey and Bacon Melt Wrap: 20g carbs, 9g fiber.
Chicken Bacon Ranch Wrap: 17g carbs, 9g fiber.
Turkey Breast and Ham Wrap: 19g carbs, 9g fiber.
All Atkins-Friendly Wraps, available in the US and Canada. The wrap itself, which is made with wheat gluten, cornstarch, oat, sesame flour and soy protein. In addition, every 6-inch sub on the menu can also be made into a wrap. "We are proud to be able to work with the nutrition experts at Atkins to bring yet another great choice to our customers who are looking to watch their weight," says Subway President and Founder Fred DeLuca. "Our customers have requested more low-carb options on our menu, so we're pleased to offer these delicious wraps for them."
Subway Restaurants has been known for its efforts in providing customers with low-fat options with its "7 under 6" menu, which features seven submarine sandwiches with 6 grams of fat or less. "Currently, Subway Restaurants recognizes there are many different approaches to weight loss and has always tried to offer dieters a menu with the choices they are looking for," says Lanette Kovachi, Subway Restaurants' staff dietician. "We have many customers who are following the Atkins Nutritional Approach., and this will provide them with the choices they are asking for."
