Valentine's Day shouldn't be as complicated as your Facebook relationship status. So Starbucks whipped up a new flavor just as sweet as your pining, lovesick heart. The love story goes like this:
Starbucks cherry mocha: Be mine?
Us: Hell yeah!
And you thought true love didn't exist. Well, it does, friends — in the form of a hot, sweet beverage that will make you forget that the only one who will send you a valentine this year is your mother. It's Starbucks' new cherry mocha, which will be stealing hearts in stores starting tomorrow.
Yes, it tastes like a chocolate-covered cherry. And, yes, like love, it's pretty addictive stuff. How couldn't it be? The new drink features espresso, an ever-so-slightly sweet mocha sauce, steamed milk and — *gulp* — candied cherry syrup. Do you even need to ask about the whipped cream and the Valentine's sprinkles on top? Doubt not, fear not: They're included in this lovefest of a beverage, no extra charge. Swooooon.

Like it hot? Oh, baby, you can have it that way. Prefer a cooler approach? No prob. An iced version is yours for the asking. Will it last forever? Well, no. Like a fleeting love in an exotic foreign land, the cherry mocha will romance you, then be on its way, leaving you only with fond memories — but it will have been worth it. The Valentine's Day-inspired flavor will only be yours between Feb. 7 and Feb. 14 (*sob!*). So fall in love at first taste and have a hot and heavy weeklong affair with Starbucks' cherry mocha. We won't tell.
And if you like an open relationship with your sweets, you might see even more action this week. Starbucks is adding two Valentine's Day treats to its dessert menu — also for a limited time only (*double sob!*). The new additions? Confetti hearts cake pops (chocolate cake with chocolate icing, glittering with tiny hearts) and heart-shaped sugar cookies (white or pink frosting).
