Shayda Habib is the manager of a Pizza Hut location in Oak Lake who spearheaded the effort. “When I heard there were families in need, I knew we needed to act fast,” she told Houston news outlet KPRC. “I called my husband and asked him to gather up kayaks and meet me at the restaurant.”

They put the food in delivery pouches, jumped into a kayak, and delivered the food to people who were stranded and running out of food in their homes.
