Chick-fil-A is giving away free food today to customers who dress up as cows

Adorable farm animals may be the last things you want to think deeply about when visiting your favorite fast food spots — except, of course, if it leads to free food.

Today is Cow Appreciation Day at Chick-fil-A, and to celebrate, anyone entering a location dressed as a cow to any degree, will score a free entrée. Children will receive a free Kid’s Meal too. And as far as we know, that’s any level of dress, from full-on Halloween garb to a cow-print hair bow.

This is part of the Eat Mor Chikin campaign Chick-fil-A is famous for — by their logic, if you're appreciating cows (by not eating them), you're eating more chicken by default. Interesting rationale, but hey, people will let a lot slide in the name of free food.

This is the 13th year Chick-fil-A has done this promotion, and during last year’s they gave out over 1.6 million free meals — so apparently something's working for them!

This promotion is available all day today (Tuesday, July 11) meaning that if you're a Chick-fil-A fan who's looking to save a buck, you might just want to cycle through local locations for your breakfast, lunch and dinner.
