Yesterday House Democrats, disgusted at the lack of action taken on sensible gun control legislation, staged a sit-in in protest. Speaker Paul Ryan may have turned off the C-SPAN cameras, but as the social media cameras kept going, one thing became disturbingly clear: This sit-in is being fueled by loads of junk food.
TMZ claims that Democrats sent interns out for Chick-fil-A. Chick-fil-A! Despite the chain's financial support to Republican politicians, not to mention its history with LGBT rights (OK, fine, they stayed open to support rescue workers in the aftermath of the Orlando shooting).
I love that democrats are taking a stand on gun control. I love the sit-in idea but dammit, Chick-fil-A, really? #LGBT— Melissa (@melissareah) June 23, 2016
Meanwhile, applause broke out when Elizabeth Warren showed up with Dunkin' Donuts:

This is why Elizabeth Warren is so popular among Democrats: Donuts.
But Warren isn't the only senator who cares. Check out what other senators sent to the House:

Daww, Senator Menendez, you're so cute with your box of M&M'S: on the train
Senator Blumenthal will see your M&M'S and raise them one box of Newman's Own peanut butter cups:
That surreal moment when the House of Representatives turns into Golden Corral:
I've got indigestion on the House's behalf now. Ugh. Couldn't someone send a salad? Seriously, though, it's amazing to see the flood of support Democrats received from their colleagues... in the form of grub. Let's stage a national eat-in, yeah? We'll nosh our way to sensible gun legislation.
