The quickest way to your valentine's heart is brownie s'mores skewers covered in Nutella

This delicious little Valentine's Day treat is the perfect combination of rich, fudgy brownies, toasted marshmallows and sweet strawberries. Then everything is drizzled in Nutella, because Nutella makes everything better.

I like to use these short skewers for desserts like this because they make the perfect single-serving treat. However, if you want to use longer skewers, just double or triple up the fillings, and serve them drizzled with all the Nutella you desire. (Which, if you're me, is the whole container.)

Strawberry brownie s'mores skewers recipe

Yields 10 small skewers

Prep time: 15 minutes | Cook time: 20 minutes | Total time: 35 minutes

For the brownies

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup white whole-wheat flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt

For the skewers

  • 1 (8 x 8-inch) pan brownies, cut into 10 (2-inch) hearts
  • 10 large marshmallows, lightly toasted
  • 5 strawberries, cut in half
  • 10 small skewers, 3 – 4 inches long
  • 1/3 cup Nutella, warmed in the microwave until melted

For the brownies

  1. Heat the oven to 350 degrees F, and spray an 8 x 8-inch pan with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. In a medium-size skillet, melt the butter over low heat. Once it's melted, remove from the heat, and stir in the sugar, cocoa powder and vanilla extract. Stir together to combine.
  3. The mixture should not be hot, so add in the eggs, and stir to combine.
  4. Add in the remaining ingredients, and stir just until combined.
  5. Add the batter to the prepared baking dish, and bake for about 20 minutes or until the brownies are set around the edges and slightly soft in the middle.
  6. When the brownies are cool, cut out 2-inch hearts with a heart-shaped cookie cutter.

For the skewers

  1. Add 1 heart-shaped brownie, 1 toasted marshmallow and 1 strawberry half to each skewer.
  2. Drizzle with Nutella, and serve.
