Rosemary and oregano Italian sausage pasta sauce recipe

A quick and easy Italian pasta meat sauce served over bow tie pasta and topped with shredded Parmesan cheese.

Serves 2

Prep time: 2 minutes | Cook time: 8 minutes | Total time: 10 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 can Hunt's® Rosemary and Oregano Diced Tomatoes (14.5-ounce can)
  • 1 cup cooked Italian sausage
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/3 cup diced green bell peppers
  • 2 tablespoons red wine
  • 1 clove garlic, diced
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt (or salt to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

Directions:

  1. Heat a medium-size pan on medium heat and add the olive oil.
  2. Add the bell pepper and stir as it cooks. Let it cook for about 3 minutes.
  3. Add the wine and garlic, and stir.
  4. Add the diced tomatoes, sausage, salt and pepper.
  5. Let it cook for another 5 minutes.
  6. Serve hot over mini bow tie pasta. Top with shredded Parmesan cheese.

Taco spaghetti sauce is a delicious cross between Mexican and Italian food. This pasta sauce is filled to the brim with taco seasoned ground beef and melted cheddar cheese.

Serves 2

Prep time: 2 minutes | Cook time: 8 minutes | Total time: 10 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 can Hunt's® Fire Roasted Diced Tomatoes (14.5-ounce can)
  • 2 cups cooked ground beef
  • 3 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (or salt to taste)

Directions:

  1. Heat a medium-size pot on medium heat and add all of the ingredients.
  2. Using a potato masher, gently mash the tomatoes in the pan.
  3. Let it cook for 8 minutes and serve it hot over cooked spaghetti pasta.
  4. Top with optional ingredients, such as chopped avocado, shredded cheddar cheese and tomatoes.

Ingredients:

  • 1 can Hunt's® Petite Diced Tomatoes (14.5-ounce can)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 6 large mushrooms, sliced
  • 1/2 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, diced
  • 1/4 cup white wine
  • 1/4 cup half and half
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (or salt to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

Directions:

  1. Heat a medium-size pan on medium heat and add the butter and olive oil.
  2. Add the mushrooms, onion and garlic. Stir.
  3. Let it cook for about 3 minutes.
  4. Add the white wine and stir.
  5. Add the half and half, salt, pepper and grated Parmesan cheese.
  6. Continue to cook the sauce until it starts to thicken (about 5 minutes).
  7. Serve hot over gigli pasta (or your favorite pasta).
