Luckily the folks over at Delish.com interviewed the cast to find out their answers to two important questions: What food crimes do they commit on the reg, and what food would they go to prison for? You can see our favorite answers below, plus more at Delish.
What food would she go to jail for? "Anything in truffle oil. Truffle fries? Hell yes! Or, today we had truffle burrata with tomato. I'd go to jail for that."
A tattooed bad girl with a taste for the gourmet? It's easy to see why the women of Litchfield swoon over this Aussie hottie.
Unlike her character, Annie isn't staying silent on the food she would go to prison for. "If I go to a restaurant, I look for the appetizers, and if they have a shrimp cocktail, I'm good to go. When they don't, I kind of go, 'Really? Really?'"
The voice of reason, in character and out.
Her food crime: "Drinking salad dressing. I love ginger dressing, so I put a lot on my salads. When the salad is done, I sip on the leftover dressing — only at home, though! I don't do this in public. It's like drinking the milk at the end of your cereal... Is that weird?"
Yeah, Jackie, that's kind of weird. And yet I can sort of imagine the inmates at Litchfield doing it too, especially if it helped to clean the taste of the new boil-in-bag meals out of their mouths after dinner.
Her most frequent food crime? "Lately my boyfriend and I have been making a big pan of Rice Krispies Treats and then eating the entire thing in one night. It's so easy. We sometimes will sprinkle in Cinnamon Toast Crunch for CinnaCrispies... I just made that name up."
TBH, nothing sounds better to me than splitting a pan of Rice Krispies Treats with Soso.
His worst food crime? "When I was a kid, it was a dollar for six packages of ramen. I would eat it raw, right out of the packet. Sometimes I'd run them under water and sprinkle the seasoning that comes with it on top. Get it a little wet, and you can eat it like a candy bar."
Ramen is available at the Litchfield commissary too, and this legit sounds like an innovative prison "cooking" technique. Kind of a weird snack for someone on the outside, though, Joel.
On the show, Leanne might be overzealous about her new religion, but in real life, actress Emma Myles finds herself devoted to Mexican food. She'd go to prison for "Anything Mexican. Guacamole! Tortillas! I want Mexican food right now."
Her food crime is pretty amazing. "Having dessert for breakfast. Like, if there's a really good chocolate cake in the freezer, I will totally have a slice at 7 a.m."
I guess I know which cast member I'm asking to make me breakfast.
