How to have a fun (and healthy) girls' night in this summer

I am a cookie-maker, baker-faker, food-taker. Errr! Picture-taker! I started to blog about food with the intent to inspire others to get back into the kitchen and start cooking.

Everything you need to have the ultimate girls' night in

What’s better than celebrating everything girls with a bunch of your closest girlfriends and lots of cocktails?

I’ll tell you what: nothing! It’s one of the best things you can do for yourself.

Inspired by the warmer summer weather, we decided to host our own little backyard get-together. Our goal was to get outside, away from the TV, husbands and kids, and enjoy some time together.

A girls' night in is always the one place where we can be ourselves, say what we want to say, do what we want to do and drink up all the VitaFrute™ Cocktails that we want. Don't worry — we all crashed at my house. Drinking better and drinking responsibly is always our motto.

The only thing I asked of my friends was for them to bring their beautiful selves and bags of ice. Simple — yet always delicious — hors d'oeuvres were provided by yours truly, and the cocktails were provided by VitaFrute™ Cocktails by VEEV®, the first line of organic and all-natural ready-to-drink cocktails. I didn’t even have to worry about playing bartender — it was all done for me. The only thing I had to do was pour the cocktails over ice. Easy-peasy!

I prepped my most requested table-side guacamole, which was a hit as always, and some caprese salad skewers. If you've never tried guacamole with basil in it, try this. Like right now.

Lemonade cocktail

The lemonade cocktail was one of my favorites. It's a light and refreshing organic blend of VEEV® Acai Spirit, all-natural lemon and lime juices and agave nectar. Simply fresh, modern and cool. I served it out of these cute VEEV® Mason jars and popped some pink striped straws in them for a summery touch.

Tangy margarita

The VitaFrute™ margarita was perfect served with my famous guacamole. It was exceptional! Tangy, flavorful and so much fun.

Refreshing cosmos

We probably could have had one more bottle of the margarita, but our cosmos were next, and no one turns down a VitaFrute™ cosmopolitan. This stuff is amazing. Smooth, refreshing and delicious.

Before the night was over, we all reached for a glass of the VitaFrute™ Coconut Colada. When it comes to a beachy summer cocktail, grab that Coconut Colada — it is incredible.

By the way, there are only 125 calories in each serving of VitaFrute™ Cocktails. Let me clear that up for ya: a classic margarita is a bit over 400 calories. A classic cosmopolitan is over 220 calories. So, the choice is clear! Besides, we’re talking about cocktails made with all-natural ingredients — and they're dang delicious.
