The party season can take its toll with late nights, indulgent foods and alcohol flowing freely. Juice is a great way to help your body regain balance and health and the best part is it's super fast.

Not only are juices fast, they are filling, they are delicious and, depending on their ingredients, they are super healthy and can help your body gain extra nutrients or even detox from the party season.

If juice recipes aren't quite to your liking, then don't be afraid to experiment and change them around to suit your individual taste. Detox juices are best if they include ingredients such as ginger, citrus, celery, cucumber and mint which all help promote cleansing.

Juicing will be so much easier if you have a good quality juicer. Good quality juicers ensure you are able to create great, fresh juice by extracting the majority of the juice and leaving only dry fruit pulp behind.

Fruits that are great for juicing include:

  • apples
  • citrus
  • melons
  • berries
  • grapes
  • pears
  • mango
  • pineapple

Vegetables that are great for juicing include:

  • carrots
  • beetroot
  • spinach
  • celery
  • cucumber

Other great accompaniments for juicing are:

  • ginger
  • mint
  • parsley
  • flax seed oil
  • chia seeds

Now you've got some idea of what to use to create your own wonderful, healthy juices, here are some simple combination ideas that are targeted toward detoxing.

Apple, carrot, ginger and lime juice

Serves 1

Ingredients:

  • 1 apple
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 centimetre cube of ginger (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 a small lime

Directions:

  1. Place all the ingredients through the juicer, pour into a glass, stir and drink immediately.

Apple, watermelon, celery and mint juice

Serves 1

Ingredients:

  • 1 apple
  • 1 cup of watermelon
  • 1 stalk of celery
  • Ice to serve
  • 6 mint leaves, finely chopped

Directions:

  1. Place the apple, watermelon and celery through the juicer. Pour over ice and add finely sliced mint leaves. Stir and drink immediately.

Carrot, beetroot, ginger and celery juice

Serves 1

Ingredients:

  • 2 carrots
  • Half a beetroot
  • 1 centimetre cube of ginger
  • 1 stalk of celery
  • Ice to serve

Directions:

  1. Process carrots, beetroot, ginger and celery through the juicer. Pour over ice and drink immediately.

Mango, orange, celery and mint juice

Serves 1

Ingredients:

  • 1 mango with seed removed
  • 1 orange
  • 1 stalk of celery
  • 6 mint leaves finely chopped

Directions:

  1. Process mango, orange and celery through the juicer. Pour into glass, add finely chopped mint and stir. Drink immediately.
