Unexpected guests are my worst nightmare. I like advance notice to clean the house, plan the menu and, most importantly, stock the bar. But should unscheduled guests come a-knockin', the best defense (aside from a quick toilet-scrubbing on the sly) is having a few super-simple recipes in your arsenal. Olive tapenade recipe
2 cups Kalamata olives
6 garlic cloves
1 cup olive oil
1 cup chopped fresh Italian parsley
1/4 teaspoon lemon juice
