According to Chipotle's website, Sofritas are made with "organic tofu from Hodo Soy that we shred and then braise with chipotle chilis, roasted poblanos, and a blend of aromatic spices. The result is a delicious, spicy tofu that will give vegans and carnivores something they both will love."
If you try a Sofrita — a burrito, taco, bowl, whatever! — on Jan. 26, you can then use your receipt to get any entrée free between Jan. 27 and Feb. 28.
I can personally vouch for the Sofrita burrito. I tried it when Chipotle first launched Sofritas, and the spicy, savory mixture is really the bomb. Vegetarians and vegans will be especially happy to have another option at the ubiquitous burrito chain, and it's hearty (and non-tofuy, if that's a thing) enough that meat eaters will enjoy it too.
So mark your calendars for Monday, Jan. 26. Free food is always worth making time for.
