Deep frying makes everything better, right? Think about all the things that have been made even more delicious by a bath in hot oil: Twinkies, Snickers, Oreos, mac and cheese, even butter. (Thank Paula Deen for that last one.) But now, the deep fryer is really being put to the test... can it make fruitcake taste good?
I can't honestly say that I've ever tried fruitcake, but if I was going to, I think deep fried sounds like a fine idea. I mean, it's booze-soaked, deep-fried cake. Sounds like a no-brainer to me. So, the question is: Will it fry?
