Bourbon and rye might taste great on their own, but gin is one spirit that really comes to life when worked into a mixed drink. So enjoy the feisty flavour of gin in one (or all!) of these delicious cocktails.
Gin and tonic

Gin and tonic

A gin and tonic is simple to make and easy to order no matter where you are, so try one today, and see what you think!

Ingredients:

  • 2 ounces gin
  • 4–6 ounces tonic water
  • 1 lime wedge
  • 2 ice cubes

Directions:

  1. Place the ice cubes in a highball glass.
  2. Pour gin over the ice.
  3. Pour in the tonic water, to taste.
  4. Garnish with the lime wedge.
Dirty martini

There's nothing quite as classy and sophisticated as a martini. But if you find a straight martini a little too strong, try this simple dirty martini.

Ingredients:

  • 2 ounces gin
  • 1/2 ounce vermouth
  • 1/2 ounce olive juice (more or less to taste)
  • 2 ice cubes
  • Green olive skewer (for garnish)

Directions:

  1. Place the gin, vermouth, olive juice and ice cubes in a cocktail mixer, and shake to combine.
  2. Strain into a martini glass.
  3. Add olives for garnish.
Tom Collins

If you're a fan of drinks with a small pop of sweetness, a Tom Collins might be your new favourite cocktail. And with a little maple syrup, this traditional drink gets a touch of Canadian flair.

Ingredients:

  • 2 ounces gin
  • 1 ounce lemon juice
  • 1–2 teaspoons maple syrup (to desired sweetness)
  • 2 ice cubes
  • Soda water
  • 1 lemon wedge
  • 1 maraschino cherry

Directions:

  1. Combine the gin, lemon juice and maple syrup, and pour into a highball or Collins glass.
  2. Add ice.
  3. Pour in the soda water, to taste.
  4. Add the lemon wedge and cherry to garnish.
