Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but most of us grab something quick without thinking about sustenance or nutrition. Luckily, these breakfast tips and recipes will keep you full without taking up your time.


Aloha Omelette, serves 4


  •  8 eggs
  •  6 tbsp milk
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Vegetable cooking spray
  •  1/2 cup small pineapple chunks
  •  1/2 cup cubed ham
  •  1/2 cup grated Swiss cheese
  •  1/2 cup grated Cheddar cheese


  1. Add milk and salt and pepper to eggs; whisk.
  2. Heat skillet after spraying with cooking spray; add eggs and cook halfway. Top with pineapple, ham and cheeses then cook until done. Fold half of the eggs over the other half. Cook until finished.

Weekend wake-upsPeachy oatmeal, serves 4


  •  2 cups rolled plain oats
  •  1 -1/2 tsp baking powder
  •  1 tsp cinnamon
  •  3/4 tsp salt
  •  2 cups skim milk
  •  1/2 cup brown sugar
  •  1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  •  1/3 cup peach preserves
  •  1 large egg, beaten
  •  2 cups chopped peaches


  1. Coat a baking dish with cooking spray and preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. Combine oats with baking powder, cinnamon and salt. Add together milk, brown sugar, butter, peach preserves and egg in a separate bowl. Then combine oats with preserves mixture; pour into baking dish.
  3. Bake 15 minutes, stir in peaches and then bake another 15 to 20 minutes. Sprinkle with more brown sugar if desired.

Bacon egg & cheese croissant, serves 4


  •  4 large croissants
  •  1 tbsp butter
  •  4 eggs, scrambled or fried
  •  8 slices crispy bacon
  •  4 slices cheese
  •  1 sliced avocado


  1. Cut croissants in half lengthwise and spread butter on each side.
  2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  3. Layer eggs, bacon, cheese and avocado on bottom half of croissant and put the other half on top. Put on a baking sheet and bake or until cheese is melted and sandwich is heated through (five to six minutes).
