Cookies for Santa recipe

This cookie mix jar is perfect for someone who has kids and allows them to easily bake up a batch of treats for Santa.

Total time 25 minutes

Yield 2 cookie mix jars | Makes about 1 dozen cookies per jar

Ingredients:

  • 2 (1 quart size) Mason jars with lid
  • 1-1/3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 tablespoon dried cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup holiday colored sprinkles
  • 1 cup dark or light brown sugar, packed

Directions:

  1. In a bowl combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda and the sea salt, mixing well.
  2. Layer the flour mixture on the bottom of each jar following the oats, sprinkles then brown sugar.
  3. Secure the lid tightly on the jar and include a note tag with directions on how to prepare the cookie mix.
  4. To prepare the cookies, preheat oven to 350 degrees F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  5. Pour the cookie mix into a large bowl and add 1/2 cup softened unsalted butter, 1 whole egg, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract and mix well.
  6. Using a cookie scoop drop the cookie dough on the baking sheet spacing about 1 inch apart.
  7. Bake for 12 minutes or until the edges of the cookies start to brown.
  8. Remove from the oven and cool on a baking rack for 30 minutes.
  9. Store in an airtight container for several days.

  • 1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup crushed peppermint candies
  • 1 cup brown sugar

Directions:

  1. In a bowl combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt, mixing well.
  2. Divide the flour mixture in the bottom of the Mason jars and layer with each of the remaining ingredients.
  3. Secure the jar with the lid and attach a gift tag with directions on how to prepare the cookies.
  4. To prepare the cookies preheat oven to 350 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  5. Pour the cookie mix into a large bowl and add 1 whole egg, 1/2 cup softened unsalted butter and 1 teaspoon peppermint extract (or vanilla extract) and mix well.
  6. Using a cookie scoop drop the dough onto the parchment paper about 1 inch apart and bake for 8-10 minutes or until edges start to brown.
  7. Cool on a wire rack for 30 minutes and store in an airtight container for several days.

  • 2 (1 quart size) Mason jars with lids
  • 1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tablespoon dried cinnamon
  • 1 cup paced brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup dried cranberries
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips

Directions:

  1. In a bowl combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt, mixing well.
  2. Divide the flour mixture between the 2 jars and layer with each of the remaining ingredients.
  3. Secure the lid to the jar and attach gift tag with directions on how to prepare the cookies.
  4. To prepare the cookies preheat oven to 350 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  5. Pour the cookie mix into a large bowl and combine with 1/2 cup softened unsalted butter, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract and 1 whole egg, mixing well.
