These superfoods will help your jet lag, motion sickness and other travel woes

Holiday travel can be challenging, emotionally and physically. From jet lag, to stomach problems, to seemingly always getting sick the second you step off the plane, these common problems plague travelers far and wide.

The good news? You may be able to alleviate some of these maladies with superfoods like lemon, ginger and goji berries (see the infographic from Swissotel below).

Low immunity, combined with jet lag, can lead to a sleepy, sick vacation. Luckily, foods like turmeric, cantaloupe and cherries provide the essential nutrients you need to stay healthy and energetic. If you get an upset stomach when traveling long distances, fiber-rich quinoa and soothing peppermint can help calm things down. Try packing these foods as healthy snacks during your travels, or make sure to get a healthy meal in before and after your journey.

Superfoods can be used cosmetically, too. If you're seated near a window and get too much sun, try rejuvenating your skin with yogurt or coconut water.
