31,000 Pounds of gluten-free breaded chicken products recalled

Nationwide brand recalls gluten-free breaded chicken nuggets and chicken breast

Head over to the freezer and check your chicken right away for Bell & Evans chicken bought from any store.

Murry Inc. has issued a recall on their 12-ounce, gluten-free Bell & Evans breaded chicken breast nuggets. The company has also recalled the 10.5-ounce gluten-free breaded chicken breast.

The batch being recalled all have a best-by date of August 9, 2015 and USDA mark of inspection label of P-516.

The chicken from this batch may contain a kind of bacteria that causes food poisoning, staph infections and other bacteria-based stomach problems.

Luckily there have been no reports of anyone getting food poisoning just yet. The company was able to find the problems through testing the products in-house. Only one box in the batch has tested positive for the bacteria. However, the contamination has been labeled as Class I, the most serious of recall classifications, so make sure to check your chicken right away.

Murry Inc. has stopped shipping on all of the products in that particular batch.

If you have any questions, or you have the recalled product, you can call Murry Inc. customer service at 717-273-9361 or the Meat and Poultry Hotline 888-674-6854.
