IHOP’s new calorie-bomb waffles are too good to hate

I want to hate IHOP’s new bacon and cheesecake waffles, but I can’t

IHOP has released two new "Waffullicious Waffles" that have my head and heart waffling.

Meet the Bac 'n' Cheddar waffle

The 820-calorie Bac ’n’ Cheddar waffle (that's a waffle stuffed with bacon and cheddar cheese, folks) is clearly a terrible idea, right?

Meet the Very Blueberry Cheesecake waffle

And cheesecake for breakfast? The 720-calorie Very Blueberry Cheesecake waffle offers just that, complete with ooey-gooey blueberry topping.

It's insanity. It's unhealthy. It's downright disrespectful to offer these up when America is facing an unprecedented obesity crisis and skyrocketing rates of Type 2 diabetes.

And yet.

It's bacon...and cheese...in a waffle! It's dessert for breakfast! It's fatty, sugary, carby indulgence, and as much as I want to hate the idea, I'm intrigued by the tasty possibilities. My stomach may not thank me, but my taste buds sure will.

What do you think? Has IHOP gone too far, or is a breakfast treat OK every once in a while?
