Cold brew iced coffee is super-easy to make at home, and when you add a touch of homemade coconut-caramel creamer — well, that's just perfection.

Who wants hot coffee on a sweltering summer day? Not us. This simple recipe for iced coffee can be made in a cinch using everyday ingredients you probably already have in your pantry.

Cold-brewing coffee is as simple as soaking ground coffee in an airtight container overnight.

After at least eight hours of allowing the coffee to cold-brew, strain using a coffee filter or cheesecloth in a mesh strainer.

Take your already delicious iced coffee to a whole new level by adding a homemade coconut-caramel creamer for added sweetness and flavor. Serve over frozen coffee ice cubes for an even more robust taste.

Iced coffee recipe with homemade coconut-caramel creamer

Serves 4

Ingredients:

For the iced coffee

  • 1 cup good-quality coffee grounds
  • 6 cups cold water
  • Ice cubes or coffee ice cubes

For the coconut-caramel creamer

  • 1 cup milk (whole, low-fat or skim)
  • 2 tablespoons cream of coconut
  • 1/4 cup caramel sauce

Directions:

For the iced coffee

  1. Place coffee grounds and water in a pitcher or large jar. Stir well to combine. Cover and refrigerate for at least 8 hours.
  2. Strain in a mesh strainer lined with cheesecloth or a coffee filter.
  3. Pour over ice cubes or coffee ice cubes. Add desired amount of creamer and stir well to incorporate.

For the coconut-caramel creamer

  1. Place all ingredients in a jar or other container. Stir well to combine. Cover and refrigerate.
