Yields 24

  • 1 box devil's food cake mix and the ingredients called for
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons brown sugar

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Beat until combined. Slowly add in 1/2 the powdered sugar and then 1 tablespoon of the milk. Add in the rest of the powdered sugar and the rest of the milk.
  3. Beat until all is combined, making sure to scrape down the sides of the bowl with a spatula. Fold in the chocolate chips.
