A sip of good cheer

Get in the Christmas spirit with a Santa sipper. Your holiday drinks have never looked so festive!

Enjoy a glass of good cheer at your next holiday party with these Santa sippers. Decorate Champagne flutes with edible accessories to look like Kris Kringle and fill them with your favorite white cocktail, eggnog or even milk for the kiddos. What could be merrier than a HO! HO! HO! in your hand?

Yields 6 sippers

Ingredients and supplies:

  • 6 Champagne flutes (glass or plastic)
  • 6 straws
  • Red paper
  • Tape
  • 10 ounces white candy melts, plus 6 more for mustache
  • 1/8 cup butterscotch chips
  • Decorator candy eyes (found at most hobby and craft stores)
  • Round red candy (like Red Hots or M&M’s)
  • Small squeeze bottle or pastry bag with round tip

Gather ingredients

Gather your ingredients and supplies.

Make Santa's face

Combine 3 ounces of white candy melts and 1/8 cup butterscotch chips in a bowl and melt in the microwave. Heat for 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.

Dip one side of each Champagne flute into the melted mixture, and coat a triangular-shaped area for Santa's face.

Place flutes upside down on a sheet of parchment paper to dry.

Pipe candy melts around flutes

Melt remaining 7 ounces of white candy melt in a bowl in the microwave. Heat for 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.

Pour into a small squeeze bottle or pastry bag with a small rounded tip. Squeeze dollops of candy melt around the top edge of the flutes. Allow to dry and harden.

Turn flutes upright, and add more dollops of white candy melt around the top edge to look like a fur-trimmed Santa hat. Allow to dry and harden.

Make mustaches

Cut six white candy melt wafers in half with a knife to use for Santa's mustache.

Finish Santa's face

Attach candy eyes, mustaches and noses to the Santa faces with tiny dabs of candy melt. Allow to dry and harden.

Make Santa's hats

Cut rectangles of red paper (the long side of your paper rectangle should be slightly smaller than the circumference of your Champagne flute). Cut a half-circle shape. Form into a cone and tape or glue together. Cut off the tips of the cones, large enough for a straw to fit through the hole.

Put the straws inside the flutes and slide the red paper cone hats over them until they rest inside the candy melt edge of the flute. Pipe white candy melt around the top, attaching the straws to the paper cones and forming the ball of the Santa hat. Allow to dry and harden.

Fill 'em up!

When ready to serve, fill the Santa sippers with eggnog, milk or your favorite white cocktail.
