Mix up your leftover Halloween candy!

Turn your leftover Halloween candy into tasty cocktails! Gather your friends and mix up a few batches of candy-inspired cocktails for seasonal fun.

When you've grown tired of snacking on leftover Halloween candy, get a little creative and turn it into cocktails! From chocolate to lemon to peppermint and coconut, these cocktails will lift your spirits!

Luscious Lemonhead-infused vodka martinis

Who doesn't love the sweet-and-tangy flavor of Lemonhead candies? Use your leftovers to bring some flavor to plain vodka, then shake it up into yellow-tinted, tasty martinis!

Yields 2 (4 ounce) drinks

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup plain vodka (Use 3 ounces of the finished infused vodka for the martinis. Reserve the remaining vodka for another time.)
  • 6 tablespoons Lemonhead candies, divided
  • 1 ounce orange-flavored liqueur
  • 1 teaspoon simple syrup (equal parts sugar and water, mixed until sugar dissolves)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh-squeezed lemon juice

Directions:

  1. Add the plain vodka to a glass container with a lid.
  2. Add 3 tablespoons of the candy to the vodka. Use the back of a spoon to smash the candy slightly.
  3. Place the lid on the container, shake the contents, then let it sit for a few hours.
  4. After a few hours, strain the vodka through a cheesecloth or coffee filter and into a clean container, so any remaining pieces of candy are filtered out.
  5. Place the remaining 3 tablespoons of candy in a sealable plastic bag and close it. Use a rolling pin or a heavy object to smash the candy into small pieces. Place the smashed candy in a shallow dish.
  6. Dip the rims of your martini glasses in water, then roll them in the smashed candy to coat the rims of the glasses.
  7. Add 6-8 ice cubes to a cocktail shaker along with 3 ounces of the infused vodka, the orange liqueur, simple syrup, and lemon juice. Shake for a minute, then strain the mixture, pouring it evenly into the candy-rimmed glasses.
  8. Serve immediately.

Boozy, coconutty Mounds milkshakes

Mix up a blender full of these boozy milkshakes using your leftover Mounds candy bars! The coconut and chocolate flavors go well with vanilla ice cream for a frosty adult treat.

Yields 2 (10 ounce) milkshakes

Ingredients:

  • 8 small scoops vanilla ice cream
  • 1-1/2 ounces coconut-flavored rum
  • 1-1/2 ounces chocolate liqueur
  • 6-8 ice cubes
  • 2 large-size Mounds candy bars
  • Halloween-colored sprinkles for garnish

Directions:

  1. Add all the ingredients, except the colored sprinkles, to a blender. Blend until you reach your desired consistency, then pour into 2 glasses.
  2. Garnish with colored sprinkles.
  3. Serve immediately.

Minty York Peppermint Pattie martinis

Minty martinis like these can bring a burst of freshness to your cocktail hour. Leftover York Peppermint Patties make the perfect garnish for these candy-inspired cocktails.

Yields 2 (4 ounce) drinks

Ingredients:

  • 3 ounces chocolate liqueur
  • 3 ounces cremè de menthe
  • Splash of half-and-half
  • 8 ice cubes
  • 2 York Peppermint Patties as garnish

Directions:

  1. Add all the ingredients except for the candy to a cocktail shaker.
  2. Shake for a minute, then strain the mixture, pouring it evenly between the two glasses.
  3. Use a knife to cut halfway across each piece of candy and use it to garnish each glass.
  4. Serve immediately.
