5 spectacular vodka cocktails that want to celebrate the 4th of July

4th of July vodka cocktails: O say, can you see... what a blast your cookout will be?

Because watching fireworks is always a little more fun with an adult drink in hand, we came up with five vodka cocktail recipes that are totally Fourth of July friendly. Of course all these tasty cocktails come in variations of red, white and blue — and even better, they're refreshing enough to hit the spot on a hot July afternoon.

Make them to order, or try a big batch for your next Fourth of July bash:

1. The Pom Patriot recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1-1/2 ounces vodka
  • 1 ounce fresh lemon juice
  • 1 ounce pomegranate juice
  • 1/2 ounce agave nectar
  • 1-1/2 ounces ginger beer
  • 1/2 ounce cold water

Directions:

  1. Pour all the ingredients into a bottle, and close with a metal cap.
  2. Chill before serving.

2. Lady Liberty recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1-1/2 ounces vodka
  • 1-1/2 ounces white grapefruit juice
  • 1-1/2 ounces white grape juice
  • 1/2 ounce fresh-squeezed lemon juice
  • 1/2 ounce simple syrup
  • 1/2 ounce cold water

Directions:

  1. Pour all the ingredients into a bottle, and close with a metal cap.
  2. Chill before serving.

3. All-American Beauty recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1-1/2 ounces vodka
  • 1 ounce fresh-squeezed Meyer lemon juice
  • 1/2 ounce simple syrup
  • 3 Meyer lemon peels

Directions:

  1. Muddle the lemon peels, lemon juice and simple syrup.
  2. Add the vodka and ice.
  3. Shake, and strain over fresh ice cubes.
  4. Garnish with a twist of lemon.
