Roasted Brussels Sprouts

Recipe is courtesy of Chef Anthony, executive chef of Pritikin Longevity Center.

Serves 8

Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds Brussels sprouts, trimmed, each halved

  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda

  • 2 quarts water

  • 2 tablespoons Pritikin All purpose seasoning

  • 2 tablespoons chopped garlic


Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

  2. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add baking soda and then Brussels sprouts. Turn off the flame and let sit for 2 minutes.

  3. Drain and toss with garlic and Pritikin seasoning.

  4. Place Brussels sprouts on a baking tray and bake for 15 minutes or until lightly browned.

  5. Serve hot.


Chef's note: Make your own Pritikin All-Purpose Seasoning by blending granulated onion, granulated garlic, salt-free lemon pepper, and paprika.
