Start your day with a rich and delicious combination of chocolate, bananas, and peanut butter whipped into a healthy protein smoothie.

Smoothies are a staple in my home for a refreshing breakfast or pick-me-up snack. Always on the lookout for new and delicious ways to make vegan smoothies, I tried the Vega Energizing Smoothie Mixes a few months ago and have been relentlessly -- and deliciously -- experimenting with a tasty array of fruits, greens, dairy-free milks and yogurts, and other ingredients that happen to be on hand. Hands down, this funky monkey smoothie recipe, featuring Vega Energizing Choc-O-Lot Smoothie Mix is one of my family's favorite. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

Funky Monkey Smoothies

Vega Energizing Smoothie mixes deliver two servings of veggies, 10 grams of complete plant-based protein, five grams of fiber, and a delicious dose of omega-3s per single serving.

Serves 4

Ingredients:

  • 3 frozen bananas

  • 2 cups plain or vanilla dairy-free yogurt

  • 2/3 cup dairy-free milk

  • 1/4 cup peanut butter or almond butter

  • 2 packets Vega Energizing Choc-O-Lot Smoothie Mix

  • Ice, optional


Directions:

  1. Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.

  2. Serve immediately.
