Creamy Vegan Berry Smoothie

Bosgraaf's recipe indicates that the chia seeds are optional but she doesn't recommend you omit them. She says, "The chia seeds make this smoothie into a pudding-like consistency and add a source of complete vegan protein." She is also a big fan of almond milk.

Serves 1

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup almond milk

  • 1 cup fresh strawberries

  • 1 cup fresh blueberries

  • 1 banana

  • Juice of 1 lemon

  • 1/2 cup ice

  • 4 tablespoons chia seeds (optional)


Directions:

  1. Blend all ingredients in a blender until creamy.

  2. Add chia seeds, mix and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
