Baked croutons are easy to make and have near endless variations -- use different types of bread and change up the herbs and spices to give every one of your vegan salads a uniquely flavored addition.
Since salads may be your No. 1 food to counter your indulgences over the holidays, we've got a delicious and healthy way to add crunch and flavor to your tossed greens. Baked Herb Croutons

Ingredients:

  • 1 small loaf seeded and/or whole grain bread

  • 3 to 4 tablespoons melted vegan butter or olive oil

  • Your choice dried herbs and spices to taste


Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. and grease a large rimmed baking sheet.

  2. Cut loaf of bread into bite-sized cubes and place in a large bowl.

  3. Add butter and herbs and spices and toss to coat.

  4. Spread bread cubes onto the baking sheet.

  5. Bake for 8 minutes or until cubes are crisped and lightly browned.

  6. Let cool completely then store in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
