Slow Cooker Stuffed Quince

Make it nice and slow

One of the least familiar fruits, the quince resembles a pear, but can't be eaten as easily as a pear. This unusual piece of produce needs to be cooked before it is edible. Here is one of our favorite slow cooked stuffed quince recipes FruitsAndVeggiesMoreMatters.org.

Slow Cooker Stuffed Quince (Serves 4)

Ingredients:

  • 4 quince, cored
  • 1/4 cup raisins
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
  • 2 teaspoons vegan butter
  • 3/4 cup water

Directions:

  1. Combine remaining ingredients except butter and water, and stuff the cored quince with the mixture.
  2. Dot each quince with 1/2 teaspoon butter. Place in a slow cooker.
  3. Pour water into slow cooker, cover, and cook on LOW for 8 hours.
  4. Serve warm.
