With Season 2 of Fuller House right around the corner, let's discuss what fans can expect from the sophomore season.

Joey's family

Viewers are finally going to meet Uncle Joey's family. As TVLine reported in June, Joey's wife and kids will finally show their faces. Joey's wife is named Ginger and is said to be "a little clueless in the parenting department" and is an "enthusiastic, upbeat, fun-loving magician." The entire Gladstone clan is set to make an appearance in Episode 6, which just also happens to involve them crashing the Fuller/Tanner/Gibblers' Thanksgiving.

The Olsen twins

It doesn't seem like Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen will show up in Season 2. Actually, it appears the series has given up on the idea altogether. While chatting with Entertainment Tonight in August, Jodie Sweetin said about the Olsen twins, "We've tried everything. I think we've kinda given up." There's a chance they could always pull a showstopping surprise cameo, but you probably shouldn't bet on it.

Like Season 1, the second season will also consist of 13 episodes. John Stamos dished to E! News in April, "Last year we had a very fast prep time to get the scripts and stories done. This year we got ahead of it, and I think, out of the 13, I feel like there's already, like, 10 scripts done." He added, "The writers are really working hard over there, and they're great."

Dr. Jason Seaver

Like his days as Dr. Jason Seaver on Growing Pains, Alan Thicke is returning to his sitcom days in Fuller House. He tweeted the news in June and said, "Fuller House is over its growing pains. Renewed season 2. See you there. See me on it." Details surrounding his role are scarce, but Thicke told E! News that "D.J. sets him up with one of her friends in the episode."

More series regulars

There are even more series regulars in Season 2. Viewers will now see more Scott Weinger (Steve), Juan Pablo Di Pace (Fernando)John Brotherton (Matt) and Ashley Liao (Ramona's best friend, Lola). Out of all those, wouldn't it be great to see less of Steve? Yeah, he's just that awful now.

A D.J. doppelgänger

There is going to be a D.J. doppelgänger. Because Steve can't leave well enough alone or learn how to back off of someone when he's not wanted (Steve, "no" means "no"), Steve is going to start dating a D.J. look-alike, TV Line reported in April. Steve's new lady is named "C.J.," because of course she is. She is described as a D.J. clone "from the way they look to the way they speak to the way they act." Yes, this will irritate D.J.

Like Steve, Matt too will have a new love interest, named Cristal, per TV Line. She is said to be a "20-something hot yoga instructor who often walks between rooms using only her hands." Who knows if he's dating her to make D.J. jealous or if he really has moved on.

Stephanie's love interest

As TV Line revealed in April, Stephanie is getting a new love interest. His name is Jimmy, who is described as a "gifted singer-songwriter" and someone who sees life "differently than the rest of the world." Apparently Jimmy will also be "great-looking" and "sexy" but also a "touch on the weird side."

It looks like the heat will still be there for Kimmy and Fernando. "Fernando and Kimmy are still exploring [a future]," Barber told Glamour. "They have an ex-relationship, but they’re also fiancés again. It’s very confusing!" Based on their "wedding" in the Season 1 finale, "confusing" seems to be the norm for these two.

Uncle Joey, the director

For the first time, Dave Coulier will direct an episode, he told Glamour. "This is my foray into directing. I’ve been talking about it forever, and my wife [Melissa] said, 'Why don’t you just do it? Because you always talk about it.' I love sitcoms and the whole process, so I’m really looking forward to it." He also said he hopes he doesn't have to appear as Joey in the episode he's directing. "I hope [not] because it would probably be too much for me. I'll still be thinking of jokes and funny things, but I'll be giving them to other people."

Surprise guest stars

According to John Stamos, who spoke with E! News in April, there will be some surprises ahead for fans. "There are a few guest stars that could be surprises for everybody that I'm working on, but as far as the show, we're just in a better place to make a good, solid sitcom now," Stamos revealed. Anyone else thinking The Beach Boys, especially if Stamos is working on getting guest stars himself?

The return of Nelson & Kathy... kind of

According to TV Line, D.J.'s high school boyfriend, Nelson (originally played by Jason Marsden) and her high school frenemy, Kathy (originally played by Anne Marie McEvoy) are returning. However, there's a catch. They won't be played be either Marsden or McEvoy. In September, TVLine reported Queer as Folk's Hal Sparks will take on the role of Nelson. Both Nelson and Kathy are set to return at D.J.'s high school reunion and haven't changed one bit — save for the actors who will portray them. As TV Line describes them, "Nelson is still obnoxiously wealthy, constantly boasting about his yacht and three houses, while Kathy is every bit as bitchy and pregnant as we remember her."

Remember Viper (David Lipper)? He once dated D.J. and was also in Uncle Jesse's band. According to an interview Lipper did with Yahoo in April, he revealed that the Fuller House production contacted him to check his availability for Season 2. That sure sounds like Viper could be returning, but will he be a love interest for D.J.?

Kimmy Gibbler's brother is coming to Fuller House. According to E! News, Switched at Birth's Adam Hagenbuch will play Jimmy, who is said to be "very much a male version of Kimmy." The role is recurring and not much else is known about Jimmy.

Full House fans may recall that Kimmy's family was never shown, but only mentioned, including an older brother Garth. There was never any mention of Jimmy, but it sure sounds like he's a Gibbler at heart.

Remember Stephanie's high school nemesis Gia (Marla Sokoloff)? Well, she will return in Season 2. "Gia comes back, [and] there's a few others," Jodie Sweetin told Bustle. Andrea Barber also told Bustle, "Yeah, Gia comes back. You'll have to watch though to see if she brings her cigarettes back or not. Everyone's wondering, 'Is she gonna smoke?’ Is she still rebellious? I don’t know.'"

Here's hoping Titus' character isn't as shady as his PLL character.
