Television after 'GoT' Season 7

Now that Game of Thrones is over for who knows how long, you need options on what to watch; don't worry, we get it. With Season 7 over, we won't get any more episodes until the final season airs at some point in 2019. We're in for a long, cold winter. It kind of makes me want to pull a Tommen... I mean, obviously I won't because I desperately need to know how this series is going to end, but you get my heartbreak.

Let's all quell the GoT panic attack with a television silver lining. Now that you have all these free Sunday evenings, it's time to catch up on all those other shows you haven't given yourself a chance to watch.

From shows that have long since ended to new series that will be returning in the next year, there's plenty of spectacular content that is well worth watching while you try to make a year and a half of your life feel not so torturous.

#3/10:

'Vikings'

The History Channel
#3/10:

'Vikings'

Where to Watch: Hulu
Seasons: Season 5 premieres Nov. 29

If you're looking for that rough-and-tumble world of Game of Thrones, Vikings is your show. The series feels as gritty as it is real.

The story is part myth, part reality and follows Ragnar Lothbrok, the first Viking to join Norse legend.

'Black Sails'

Starz
#4/10:

'Black Sails'

Where to Watch: Hulu
Seasons: 4

Fans of this show have agreed that the first and second seasons were a bit rough, but this show has only gotten better and better. Now it's got us all hooked.

Black Sails follows the life and adventures of pirate Captain Flynt and his crew 20 years before the classic novel Treasure Island takes place.
#5/10:

'House of Cards'

Netflix
#5/10:

'House of Cards'

Where to Watch: Netflix
Seasons: 5

You know that political intrigue in Game of Thrones that we all love so much? Well, House of Cards will drown you in it while you watch with some horror, but mostly glee.

The series follows Frank Underwood and his wife, Claire, as they rise to power and prominence in the United States government by whatever means necessary.

#6/10:

'The Tudors'

Showtime
#6/10:

'The Tudors'

Where to Watch: Showtime
Seasons: 4

This is one of my personal all-time favorites. This show was Game of Thrones pre-Game of Thrones.

The Tudors follows the life of Henry VII, who notoriously went through wives like candy. Some fact, some fiction, this series was all amazingness. Just writing this makes me want to go watch the whole thing again from the beginning.

#7/10:

'The Last Kingdom'

Netflix
#7/10:

'The Last Kingdom'

Where to Watch: Netflix
Seasons: 2

The Last Kingdom is Game of Thrones if Game of Thrones were the real-life formation of England all the way back in 872. Oh, and sans the dragons, of course.

The series follows Uhtred, a Saxon nobleman who was captured by the Danes as a boy. As a man, he sets off to reclaim his birthright, but his loyalties are tested along the way.

#8/10:

'Peaky Blinders'

Netflix
#8/10:

'Peaky Blinders'

Where to Watch: Netflix
Seasons: 3

This show was a slow burn for me, but now my whole family is absolutely hooked. Think Gangs of New York, England style.

Cillian Murphy stars as crime boss Tommy Shelby as he fights his way up the ladder.

#9/10:

'Outlander'

Starz
#9/10:

'Outlander'

Where to Watch: Starz
Seasons: 3

Outlander is Game of Thrones meets romance novel, so it's naturally a hit with the ladies. It's got everything from action and adventure to that sweeping love story that'll twist your heart.

Based on the books by Diana Gabaldon, this show follows combat nurse Claire Randall as she travels through time.

#10/10:

'The Sopranos'

HBO
#10/10:

'The Sopranos'

Where to Watch: HBO
Seasons: 6

The Sopranos is the show that started legendary television. It's arguably the most iconic story ever told on television. If you haven't watched the series, now's your chance for a good binge.

The show follows the life of Tony Soprano, who has to balance his family life with that of a different family: the Mob.
