It may be cool to smoke on TV and in the movies, but back here in the real world, even the celebs are calling it quits. If you're one of the seven out of 10 smokers who wants to quit, one of these celebrity-approved methods might do the trick.

Et tu, Ben Affleck? Yes, Matt Damon’s other half was a smoker for over 20 years and was finally able to quit for good by using hypnosis. As you might’ve guessed, it was Matt who turned his buddy Ben on to anti-smoking hypnosis in the first place. Way back in 2004, Damon used clinical hypnosis to quit smoking, a habit he had been trying to kick for several decades. As reported in Now magazine, Damon decided to quit smoking so that he could improve his sperm count before having kids — clearly, a good move for the now father of four.

If our nation’s leader can do it, then anyone can. Obama joked that he initially quit smoking because he was scared of his wife, though it seems that his family was his inspiration for improving his health. As the First Lady told iVillage after the President had been smoke-free for almost one year, Obama wanted to set a good example for his girls since “they're at the age now where you can't hide." His presidential secret? After years of struggling to quit, Obama said Nicorette gum (and the fear of Michelle) helped.
