John Stamos actually kicked off his acting career playing rocker/bad-boy Blackie Parrish in the popular soap opera General Hospital. For the role, he won a Soapy Award for Most Exciting New Actor (1982) and a Young Artist Award for Best Young Actor in a Daytime Series (1984).
It's true! John's father, Bill, owned several fast-food restaurants in Orange County at which John and his two younger sisters, Alana and Janeen, worked after school and on their days off of school.
While he did bid on and win a Disney sign for $30,700 in 2000, it was from Disneyland, not Disney World. Surprisingly enough (since he has no kids), John's a huge fan of Disney and even has a lifetime pass to the park!
John's paternal grandparents were actually the ones who originally shortened the family last name from Stamatopoulos to Stamos after relocating to the U.S. from Greece.
Coincidentally or not, Stamos' mother, Loretta, is a former swimwear model, while his ex-wife, Rebecca Romijn, had a lucrative career posing for Sports Illustrated, Victoria's Secret, Bebe and more.
In addition to having a great singing voice, John is also a skilled drummer and guitarist who often performs with The Beach Boys. He can play the piano, bass, keyboards and other percussion instruments, too.
In response to a playful interview question from a reporter at Redbook magazine inquiring what guy he'd want to sleep with if he were a woman, John Stamos jokingly answered Will Ferrell.
"It would have to be Will Ferrell. I like his curly hair and the fact that he'll get naked at the drop of a hat. I find that sexy in a man."
Although he has landed a recurring guest role on the new season of Necessary Roughness premiering June 12, John won't be playing the part of a professional football player, but instead he'll act as Connor McClane, the powerful founder of global sports and entertainment management company V3.
Not only did John Stamos tour with The Beach Boys, he appeared in their music video for "Kokomo," in which he played the steel and conga drums.
