Gwyneth Paltrow's Healthy Inspiration
When Gwyneth Paltrow lost her beloved father to cancer she wasn't just devastated, she was inspired to change her own life.
Actress and People's Most Beautiful Woman Gwyneth Paltrow is known for her strict — some may say Spartan — diet, but her eating habits are not simply a means to stay slim.
The Iron Man 3 star revealed in an interview with Beach magazine that she completely revamped her ideas about food after her father, producer Bruce Paltrow, was diagnosed with cancer. While he may have lost the war with that terrible disease, the lessons she learned about nutrition have stuck with her ever since.
"I began to consider the effects of food when my father was diagnosed with throat cancer in 1998," she explained to the mag. "I started to research anti-cancer diets in hopes that he would try to hit it from all angles."
"It's about being mindful about what you are putting in," she continued. "Good whole foods are the way we have eaten for generations. It's amazing how good you feel when you just cut out the processed stuff."

One mortal enemy of the Goopster is gluten. As she explained in her cookbook It's All Good, she and her family, including husband Chris Martin and kids Apple and Moses, gave up on processed grains, but that doesn't mean they always like it.
"Sometimes when my family is not eating pasta, bread or processed grains like white rice, we're left with that specific hunger that comes with avoiding carbs," Paltrow wrote.
"Every single nutritionist, doctor and health-conscious person I have ever come across… seems to concur that [gluten] is tough on the system and many of us are at best intolerant of it and at worst allergic to it."
