Former Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Angie Everhart revealed a personal medical diagnosis on Monday. She has thyroid cancer.

The model will undergo surgery on Tuesday, May 14. The recovery time isn't expected to be too long, as her rep said that "[Everhart] expects to be back to work and to mommy duties in a few weeks."

The news about Everhart coming forward with her diagnosis is very similar to Dancing with the Stars host Brooke Burke-Charvet's admission that she was suffering from thyroid cancer last fall. She had surgery to remove the cancer over the holiday season and is back to her regular hosting duties on season 16 on the dance competition show.

In fact, Burke-Charvet even went on Good Morning America to reveal her scars from the surgery. The host initially wore scarves to cover up, but the scars are not even noticeable now in the glamorous gowns she wears each week.

Burke-Charvet told the morning show, "The message really is about preventative health because I have no symptoms and generally, thyroid cancer has very subtle symptoms."

Everhart is also preaching a similar story. Her rep shared, "The most important reason she is revealing this information is to encourage people to learn about cancer prevention, its signs and treatment immediately.”

The actress is also feeling the love from her fans as she also thanked them for "express[ing] their support."
