This is what Jason Bateman looks like now

Sports a beard at Los Angeles premiere

The seven years that have elapsed since Arrested Development was on the air have apparently been all good for Jason Bateman.

Twenty-five more days until Netflix gives us all the Arrested Development we can handle, and to forestall withdrawal, we offer this: The beard-bedecked Jason Bateman.

Lovely, right? Is there a portrait in his attic aging for him or something?

How come he looks so good with facial hair? George Clooney bore a distinct resemblance to Burl Ives with his chin-scrubber, Ben Affleck looked mangy and Brad Pitt's beard is best left unmentioned.

Bateman and his fellow Arrested Development cast members were photographed Monday night at the Los Angeles premiere for the show at TCL Chinese Theatre (used to be Grauman's and later Mann's Chinese Theatre), which had a little red carpet and lotsa celeb attendees: Amber Tamblyn, Natasha Lyonne, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Laura Prepon, and, of course, Portia de Rossi's lovely wife Ellen DeGeneres, looking sharp in a gray suit and suede shoes while de Rossi chose the little black dress route.

Meanwhile, Bateman was photographed with his lovely wife of 12 years, Amanda Anka, equally as cute as her desperately cute husband.

Of course, Bateman hasn't exactly gone unseen since Arrested Development wound up its run. In the intervening years, he's been in movies both great (Juno, Up in the Air) and, um, less so (Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium, anyone? No?). But this is the dude you're going to see May 26 as you mainline all 15 new eps of Arrested Development.
