True Story Of Celeb-Obsessed Thieves
Girls gone wild has taken on a whole new meaning!
The new trailer for The Bling Ring has been released and it promises to be a darkly humorous foray into the world of high-class crime.
Written and directed by Sofia Coppola, the film stars Emma Watson, Leslie Mann, Taissa Farmiga, Claire Julien, Israel Broussard, Katie Chang, Georgia Rock, and Gavin Rossdale.
The stylish drama is based on the true story of a group of teens who stole from a slew of Hollywood stars like Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton and Orlando Bloom. The group, dubbed "The Bling Ring", was reportedly captivated by the lavish lifestyles of celebs. From October 2008 to August 2009, the thieves, who were also referred to as "The Hollywood Hills Burglars", broke into the homes of the rich and famous.
In total, the group walked away with roughly $3 million in cash and property that included clothing and jewelry.
The Bling Ring focuses on the group's pursuit of a high-end lifestyle and how that spirals into a dangerous obsession.
The shocking story was previously chronicled in the 2011 Lifetime movie that was also titled The Bling Ring.
The film will screen at the Cannes Film Festival next month and will open in theaters in June.
