There's nothing juicier than a good old fashioned Southern feud — Hatfields and McCoys, anyone? Two country stars are said to have nothing but hatred for each other, rumors that grew even hotter when the world witnessed a supposed Grammys diss last weekend, but at least one party says it's all in our imagination.
Carrie Underwood gave a stunning performance at the 2013 Grammys, earning a standing ovation from everyone except her supposed mortal enemy Taylor Swift. "Taylor feels Carrie is always rude to her, so she steers clear of her," a source told Us Weekly.
So is this feud the real deal?
"No, not that I know of at least," Underwood said when asked if she and Swift hate each other's guts during an interview with Gayle King on CBS This Morning.
In fact, Underwood even said she listens to Swift's music.
"I really like 'I Knew You Were Trouble,'" she said. "It sounded a lot different for her. I liked the branching out, trying some different sounds."
So why does this rumor persist? Underwood claims it comes from anonymous "sources" like the one quoted in the Us Weekly story.
"In every magazine, in pretty much every newspaper or on gossip TV shows, they can just get away with it by saying 'a source said' or 'an insider said.' I've read the most ridiculous things about myself when people do that," she said.
