Country singer Chely Wright has some seriously happy news: She's expecting twins with wife Lauren Blitzer-Wright. The "I Already Do" singer broke the news Wednesday night during an interview on the YouTube series Gwissues.
"They are due in July, but with identical twins you typically have to deliver a month early," the 42-year-old singer said. "So, we're anticipating that I will be as big as a… bus or A-frame house by June."
"There had never, ever been a country music artist who had acknowledged his or her homosexuality," Wright told People in 2010.
That didn't stop her, though.
"Nothing in my life has been more magical than the moment I decided to come out," she continued.
Even if it did cost her the relationship with her mother.
"From the day that I officially came out, on May 4, 2010, many people that had been fans aren’t anymore. My mother did not take it well at all and we don’t speak, and that was a cost," she told Anderson Cooper in 2012.
However, the happy couple is excited to start their own family.
"We feel like God blessed us with twins," Blitzer-Wright said in the Gwissues interview. "We feel our entire relationship has been blessed. We feel lucky and ready to take on the challenges."
"We're excited to be parents," Wright continued. "We hope we don't mess it up too badly."
