This musical match is blissful. And this track is the musical equivalent of The Notebook (yes, it's that good).
No two voices could flow together so perfectly
Gavin Degraw knows meaningful lyrics. Collbie Caillat knows romantic lyrics. Their respective music is thought-provoking, and they sing what we all feel. They each have this unusual tendency to manifest the feelings of our hearts into words, and words into art. Their passion overflowed into these lyrics, giving them depth.
A love song like no love song
Usually you hear songs of heartbreak or of longing — sometimes of appreciation — but rarely do you hear one of maturity and self-realization combined.
I mean, this is my first time, but perhaps it has been awhile since a romantic track has conveyed this notion. With time you learn acceptance and love is more than a feeling.
Part of the soundtrack for the upcoming movie Safe Haven
Josh Duhamel and Julianne Hough star in this anticipated film about a woman who is forced out of her shell and troubled past. With the release of this track, I may actually venture out into theaters to see a movie that fosters so much star presence.
Colbie and Gavin give Josh and Julianne a run for their money when it comes to who may be a stronger pairing. I guess we'll find out when the movie is released. But in the meantime, break out the Kleenex, because it may cause some tears!
This truly is a remarkable song. It's moving and instrospective, facilitating a unique listening experience that I can't help but recommend.
Perfect timing if you ask me — with Valentine's Day just around the corner!
