Kate Winslet has vowed "til death do us part" for the third time. The actress and beau Ned Rocknroll exchanged vows in early December in a top-secret ceremony!
Seen here in London in March, Kate Winslet and Ned Rocknroll held hands on their way to the Titanic 3D premiere. The pair, who were first romantically linked in the fall of 2011, are now husband and wife after exchanging vows in front of friends and family in New York.
Us Weekly first reported news of the nuptials Wednesday, quoting a source as confirming the couple married "in early December in New York." The insider added, "They were surrounded by a small group of friends and close family members."
Ned Rocknroll — whose birth name is the decidedly more tame Abel Smith — is the nephew of Richard Branson, the Virgin empire mogul. He was previously married to British socialite Eliza Cowdray, the daughter of a multimillionaire viscount. (That's a member of the European nobility, for those of us stateside not up to speed on royal rankings across the pond!)
You may recall that Kate Winslet was vacationing at Richard Branson's home on Necker Island in August of 2011 when a fire broke out. She and Ned jumped into action, helping family members escape danger.
The actress was married to Jim Threapleton from 1998 to 2001 and to Sam Mendes from 2003 to 2010. Daughter Mia, now 12, was born during her first marriage, while 9-year-old son Joe was born during her second.
Belated congratulations go out to Kate Winslet and Ned Rocknroll on their wedding!
