Harper Suits Up
Arrow is suffering from hottie overload. The CW hit has added another star to its attractive roster. Colton Haynes has been cast as the hero's comic-book sidekick, Roy Harper.
Is The CW's Arrow getting a new partner in crime fighting? At the moment, resident vigilante Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) works alongside John Diggle (David Ramsey), his bodyguard-turned-confidant. But according to TV Guide, a familiar face from the Green Arrow comics is heading to Starling City.
The drama recently cast the role of Roy Harper. In the comics, he's Green Arrow's partner, who also goes by the name Speedy. Once he joined the Teen Titans, he went by Arsenal and as a member of the Justice League, he calls himself Red Arrow.
Apparently, the youngsters will meet in "in an unexpected way," and Harper's "destined to become a significant part of her life and an important player in the larger world of Arrow." When it comes to looks, Haynes fits the bill. Yes, he's attractive, but he also resembles the comic version of the character. It's great casting all around.
But like everything on Arrow, we're not sure how Harper will be adapted for the show. As we said before, Oliver already has Diggle as a sidekick. Plus, Thea currently sports the nickname of Speedy. So how will Harper fit into the story?
Haynes makes his Arrow debut in the Feb. 20 episode "Dodger."
Arrow airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on The CW.
