 Who stunned at the awards Sunday night?The 2012 American Music Awards red carpet was stunning. Whether celebs went over the top or kept it simple, here are our best-dressed for this year's red carpet. The stars of the red carpet of the 40th American Music Awards stunned, and overall looked amazing. Although it seems that many of them were dressed very similarly, it doesn’t mean they didn’t look hot. Carly Rae JepsenJepsen was far and away the best-dressed on the red carpet. Taylor SwiftWhat can we say? The singer always looks gorgeous. She always looks like she didn’t try too hard (even though she probably did) and tonight is no different. Swift showed up in a short gold number (a norm for the night) that showed off her legs and a little of her shoulders. The dress looked understated while still being glamorous. Lucy HaleHale opted for a short black dress showing off her body’s assets, but not enough to be anything but what she is — an actress in children and young adult movies. Hale’s understated dress reminds us of her natural beauty. She complemented the dress with a pair of red pumps, giving enough interest to propel her onto the best-dressed list. Justin BieberIt’s easy to feel sorry for Justin Bieber, since he just went through a breakup and was expecting to bring his ex, Selena Gomez, to the awards. But he obviously lifted his head up and dressed in a simple, yet hot all-black outfit. With just enough different textures to make the outfit interesting, the boy definitely knows how to dress. At first look, McCarthy’s dress looks a little too busy to be on this list. But the dress reminds us how hot the 40-year-old actress still is. And more important, that she knows it.
