The Jersey Shore's been canceled, but we haven't seen the last of its stars. MTV's confirmed another one of its famous roommates is getting a spinoff. This time, it's the young and charming Vinny Guadagnino.
Unlike his peers J-Woww, Snooki and Pauly D, Vinny's new venture isn't a typical reality series. He's opting for the road less traveled — a talk show. Who knew he had the gift of gab? The project is called The Show With Vinny and it won't be your typical, stuffy chatfest. There's a twist!
The host will interview celebs against the backdrop of his Staten Island home. Members of Vinny's family will also get in on the action. Both his mother Paula and Uncle Nino are expected to be fixtures on the series.
So why the talk show route? MTV's Executive Vice President of Programming, Chris Linn, says, "Vinny's unique mix of humor, intelligence, curiosity and heart make him the perfect choice for this genre busting take on the interview format. As the lives of the Jersey Shore cast evolve, we are excited to explore new ground while still delivering the laughs and surprises that fans have come to expect from the franchise."
While the network's hammering out the details, you can get a taste of Vinny's hosting skills this Thursday. He, alongside his Jersey Shore castmates, will headline a fundraiser called Restore the Shore. Money generated will contribute to the rebuilding of Seaside Heights.
Restore the Shore airs live at 11/10c on MTV.
