At the heart of the movie we find Django, an African American in the racist South, recently freed from his slave shackles but pledged to an untouchable bounty hunter, Dr. King Schultz (Waltz), in exchange.
Together, they're redefining the South one plantation at a time in search of Django's kidnapped wife (Kerry Washington), imprisoned by none other than Calvin Candie (DiCaprio).
This redemptive and vindictive perspective — replete with guns and other Tarantino trademarks — has us champing at the bit for the Christmas arrival.
