Known as "Twi-hards" for their hard-core and intense love of the all things Twilight, the grounds surrounding the Staples Center in Los Angeles are littered with at least 1,500 Breaking Dawn fans. Decked out in camping gear and everything from Breaking Dawn pillows to pajamas with Robert Pattinson's face printed all over the fabric, it's safe to assume Breaking Dawn — Part 2 will be a major blowout for its studio, Summit Entertainment.
The Daily Mail reports some fans are even international, hopping flights to camp out for the remaining five days before Breaking Dawn — Part 2's premiere. The newspaper reports:
"Stacey Buckley of Bournemouth, England, decided last year she had to be in Los Angeles for the the premiere of the final Twilight film, and was excited the moment had finally came. She saved her money, rounded up some other local fans she met online and booked a ticket for the States, where she is spending four nights camping out in front of the Nokia Theatre with some 1,500 other supporters."
The Daily Mail reported Buckley flew about 5,400 miles and will spend about 90 hours camping all in the name of Twilight. The Huffington Post reported fans camped out seem to be getting along great despite the less-than-favorable living conditions. Sharon Lottes traveled from Arizona and explained to the Huffington Post the instant camaraderie between Twilight fans is palpable.
"You bring stuff. You meet people," Lottes, 29, told the digital news site. "It's the world's biggest sleepover, and at our age, who gets to do that?"
The 1,500 fans are expected to remain camped out despite weather reports for chilly weather and rain. For those of us who are not standing in line, we have the Breaking Dawn — Part 2 trailer for you below:
