Rihanna struts her stuff with VS Angels

The 2012 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show was a sexy, sultry success! With Rihanna performing in lingerie, the only thing that might have gone wrong is if the slender Angels couldn't hold up their hefty wings. Believe it or not, the life of catwalk goddess is rough!

Break out your tiny violins and prepare to play a tune of sympathy for the beauties who strut at Victoria's Secret Fashion Shows. The stunners insist that not only do they endure immense pressure, they're literally weighed down by the lingerie maker's infamous wings!

Wednesday night's taping of the annual Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in New York City saw a bespectacled Rihanna perform on the runway as scantily-clad models took their spin in the spotlight. Before taking the stage, however, many of the models expressed that being a beauty is not as easy as it looks.

"It’s a lot of pressure being, like, barely with clothes on the runway," Victoria's Secret Angel Doutzen Kroes lamented to Confidenti@l.

Brazilian beauty Isabeli Fontana chimed in, "I think every woman has insecurities, even us. People say, 'Oh, they're so skinny,' or they're this and they're that, but nobody's perfect."

Fontana added, "I would prefer not to be that skinny, but I need to because it’s my work. But it's my insecurity, too."

As for the infamous Victoria's Secret Angel wings — which weigh roughly 20 pounds per pair — Joan Smalls vented, "People think, 'Oh, it’s so easy, blah, blah,' but it requires balance, strength, coordination."

Victoria's Secret "angel" Selita Ebanks sued for devilish fight >>

Candice Swanepoel, the 24-year-old South African stunner, admitted the 2012 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show has had her quaking in her heels for days.

"I get really anxious. Every year it gets worse and worse," the catwalk veteran (she's been a VS regular for five years already!) explained. "We have a great after-party and forget about what we look like, if our butt is high enough, and just enjoy the night like normal girls. People think it’s really easy for us, and it’s not."

Before hitting the stage in a black corset gown with a thigh-high slit, Rihanna admitted to also having a few nerves.

"I need to hit the gym after seeing these girls," the "Diamonds" singer, who was adorned with pearls, joked. "When I sing I'm going to suck in [my stomach] and arch my back and try to remember my songs at the same time."
