Ke$ha has a new album coming out in December, but that's not the most exciting thing in her life. The singer had the honor to work with ex-Stooges front man Iggy Pop on a song for her new album and said it was "the best day of my life probably."
What was most exciting wasn't just that he worked with her but that he would want to work with her.
"I obviously respect the hell out of him, but for him to respect me enough to actually put his name on something and collaborate with me was incredibly flattering as an artist," Ke$ha told the Huffington Post.
She also worked with many other artists on the new album, including the Flaming Lips. And for her new single, "Die Young," she worked with fun. lead singer Nate Reuss. Ke$ha spoke with Ryan Seacrest about the album, Warrior, and said she took inspiration from the world around her.
“The theme of this record is magic," she told Seacrest, according to the Huffington Post. "I went on a spirit journey by myself. No security guard. No managers. I just went around the world and lived on a boat. I was in Africa rehabilitating baby lions. I went diving with great white sharks, and just went on this crazy spirit quest. I got hypnotized, and I just really wanted this record to be really positive, really raw, really vulnerable and about the magic of life."
Ke$ha said the songs are about those journeys with supernatural beings and "about past lives." She will also be coming out with an illustrated memoir, and after hearing about the inspirations for her album, it looks like the memoir might be pretty interesting.
Warrior will be released on Dec. 4, but "Die Young" is out now.
